Earth Cycles { Final Assessment}

Topics:
Part 1
Rock Cycle
1. How does a metamorphic rock become a sedimentary rock?
Metamorphic rock turns into sedimentary throughout weathering and erosion. We weathering happens it breaks down the metamorphic rick into sediments than erosion moves sediments to water and than compaction and cementation creates sedimentary rock.
Metamorphic rock ---> Weathering---> Sediments ---> Erosion ---> Compaction, Cementation ---> Sedimentary rock.
2. How does Magma change into Metamorphic rock?
Magma change to metamorphic rock throughout crystallization. When magma cools down by the process called crystallization it turns into Igneous rock. Than, heat and pressure turns into metamorphic rock.
Magma---> Crystallization(cooling) ---> Igneous rock ---> heat and pressure ---> Metamorphic rock.
Carbon Cycle
3. How does a consumer become fossil fuel?
When a consumer die, the decomposers breaks the organisms down. This process called Decomposition which happens in million years. After the process finish it become fossil fuel.
Consumers---> Die---> Decomposers---> Decomposition---> Fossil Fuel.
4. How can a fossil fuel be used in photosynthesis?
First the fossil fuel will burn by he factories and than release carbon dioxide. This process called Co2 mission, than consumption happens this is when they burn the resources for example coal. Than produce carbon dioxide. It release to the atmosphere and than plants ( producers) observe Co2 during the process of photosynthesis.
Fossil Fuel ---> Co2 emission---> Consumption ---> Carbon dioxide---> Producers Observe Co2 --> photosynthesis.
Water Cycle
5. How does lake water turn into clouds?
When the sun heat the water or plants it makes evaporation and transpiration. That release gas called Water vapor. This gas goes to the atmosphere and it start to get closer to each other and create clouds this called condensation.
Water---> sunlight---> Evaporation and transpiration---> Water Vapor---> Condensation---> clouds.
6. How can a cloud turn into groundwater?
When clouds start to create than precipitation happens and it rains which cause the runoff from a hill or a mountain and sometimes from heavy rain. Than the runoff will Infiltration which means water goes into the soil and create groundwater.
Clouds---> Precipitation---> Runoff---> Infiltration---> Groundwater.
PART II
All 3 cycles (Water, Carbon, and Rock cycle) are important for the earth. If one didn't work the other two wouldn't work either. Also they all are connected to the 4 spheres. Hydrosphere, lithosphere, Atmosphere, and biosphere.
Hydrosphere is connected to the rock cycle by when weathering happens it breaks down the rocks into sediments than erosion moves sediments to the water and become sedimentary rock. Also, when lava falls in the water it cools and become igneous rock. Hydrosphere is also connected to water cycle. This happens when precipitation happens and it cause the runoff. Than Infiltration happens which means the water goes into the soil and that create groundwater. Hydrosphere is connected to the carbon cycle when the plants takes in water from the groundwater during photosynthesis and take the sunlight and Co2 and release oxygen.
Lithosphere is connected to the rock cycle when Weathering breaks down rocks into sediments and erosion moves them to the water and that's when compaction and cementation happens and create sedimentary rocks than heat and pressure turns it to Metamorphic rock. Than melting change it to magma. All of this happens under the ground. Lithosphere is connected to water cycle when precipitation happens and the runoff happens. Than Infiltration happens which means the water got suck into the soil and great groundwater. Lithosphere is connected to carbon cycle when consumers die and the decomposers breaks them down during the process decompositions than it create fossil fuel underground and that takes millions of years.
Atmosphere is connected to rock cycle when the Volcano erupts and lava come out, it release Co2 to the atmosphere. It's also connected to Water cycle when the sun heat the water and plant and it cause evaporation and transpiration. Than the water vapor release and it create clouds which is called condensation. Atmosphere is connected to carbon cycle when factories burns fossil fuels and that is called Co2 Emission and it release carbon dioxide to the air.
Biosphere is related to rock cycle when volcano eruption happens it release a lot Co2 and if it release a lot and their is consumers around the area it might kill them because they breath a lot of Co2. The water cycle is related to biosphere when Plants takes in Co2, Water, Sunlight during photosynthesis and it release Oxygen to all living things. The Biosphere is also related to carbon cycle when consumers eats plants to make them survive which is a kind of biosphere.
Part III
How are the three cycles (carbon, water, and rock) connected to each other?
The rock, water, carbon cycles all work together. If one didn't exist the other wouldn't exist too. The water cycle creates the water evaporation and plant transpiration and this release gas into the air called water vapor which create condensation(clouds). That makes precipitation. Another word for it Weathering which breaks down rocks into sediments. The rock cycle has coals ( type of igneous rock) which was create in the carbon cycle. When consumers die and the decomposers breaks them down in the process called decomposition which takes millions of years to create fossil fuel. Also, when erosion moves sediments to water the rock cycle and water cycle work together. When the Water vapor creates clouds it also makes Co2 to release and trees takes them during photosynthesis and it release Oxygen to all of us (consumers). That is how all three cycles work togather.

Reflection:
1. What did you enjoy most about this project and Why?
I loved learning about the rock cycle because I learned that the rock cycle is the cycle that explain how the three rocks type are related to each other and how Earth processes change of rock from one type of rock to another through time. Also, I liked the activities we choose to do. I wrote a poem and it sounded great when I wrote it. It was a really good topic.
2. What was most challenging for you during this project and why?
The most challenging things during this project was to decide our topic because the whole project was easy to plan and actually do but when it came to choose a topic we had a lot of time to choose it. At the end we choose a topic that I think it's really interesting for me and other people. Another challenge was to make everyone focus on their work but we as a group did it together and finished our work on time.
3. What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
I didn't really learn any skills but I really learned how to communicate with other group members and make the project more interesting for them and that made them want to do their work. I also get to practice writing poems.
4. Is there anything that you could have done to improve any of your work?
I have a lot of things to talk about to improve my projects:
- To start editing the movie early so we can have enough time to choose music and also we can add additional pictures and experiments.
- I could have record our voices and included in our video.
- I could have set a deadline for each part of the project so we could make the deadline on time.

Sleep & Learning Reflection

1. How does sleep effect your learning?
All day your brain keep taking information inside until you go to sleep and that's when your brain consolidates and practice what you learned during the day. While you are sleeping your brain is not distracted by other activities that we do all day.
2. How much sleep do you get each night? Do you think this is enough? Do you feel tired in the morning?
Each night I have 9 hours sleep every night. I go to bed at 9 pm and woke up at 7 am, so I think I have enough sleep everyday. I sometimes don't feel that i have enough sleep but usually I do feel awake and I have a lot of energy.
3. Will you change what you do after reading about sleep and learning? Why or why not?
I wouldn't change anything because i get enough sleep every night but the one thing I will change is when I go to sleep I will close the music, internet, and TV so my body can rest better than it usually does.

Energy Drink
Final Reflection

What Is Your Opinion About Energy Drink?
My opinion about Energy drink is that is really harmful for human body. I don't even like Energy. i only taste the energy drink once but i never loved it. I always tell my friend not to drink it because inside me something always tells me not to drink it, i don't know why but it's just like that. Know i agree more with my opinion because after I read the articles i strongly agree with my opinion. Energy drink causes a lot of things to happen to your body. It causes fever, abdominal pain, confusion, anxiety, and frequent urination.What Is An Opposing Argument Than The One You Have Been Presented With? What Would The Drink Makers Say About This?
Other who loves to drink these energy drink will defend this opinion because energy drink is like a drug to them. the company would say we have caffeine in these drinks to make people awake and have energy we don't do them to harm peoples life. They say that because they want to sell as much products as they can.Will You Drink Them? Why Or Why Not?
After knowing what is inside the Energy drink i will never drink it now or later because there is too much caffeine and sugar that is bad for my body. Also, i never liked these Energy drinks. I would never have been drinking it even if i didn't know what's inside it because i think it doesn't have any benefit to my body so why would i drink it, it only have a lot of sugar and that will make me fat.

what are the natural characteristics of a special country?
the natural characteristic of a special country is it's location, natural disasters, natural resources, landforms, and climate. the location tells us where this country in located or find on the world map. the natural disasters helps make this country special because it shows how people adapt on these natural hazers that always happens in there countries. Land forms has a big job in countries for example in Egypt we have the pyramids, no other countries has them so that makes our country special than any other countries.
How does our country define who we are?
Our native country defines who we are because it shows our nationalism to our country. Culture, religion, and tradition. these three are the most important things that can define who we are and which country we came from. the tradition from our country define who we are by kind food we eat, celebrations, and other things, In Egypt 96% of the country are Muslims, so that shows that it is an Islamic country.
What did you enjoy most about this project and why?
In this project i like working and finding information about my country because it basically shows my country roots and i also learned new things about my country.
What was most challenging for you during this project and why?
the most challenging thing for me in this project was putting song in animoto because i didn't know how to put multiple songs to make them a one song to put on animoto.
What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
In this project i learned how to combining different sources and put them into a simplified, and own word version. I also learned to put pictures according to the evidence i have.
Is there anything that you could have done to improve any of your work?
I would made my movie longer because i didn't really talked about my traditional things that we do when we celebrate weddings, and other parties. I would also going to make a full time to choose the design and music that i am going to include in my video.
What would you change about this project?
I will ask people to include all natural disasters in 2010- 2014 and also tells us why and how these disasters happened. Also, people should talk more about their countries landforms.
